While struggling to escape a shifting forest, Hikaru and his companions are brought to an ancient village where they are hailed as prophesied saviors. Devastated to learn that there is no way back to their own world, Hikaru further binds his fate to this mysterious land by forming a mystical vow with Touka, a tree spirit who previously appeared as a monster.
Tears of the Vengeful Spirit
After Hikaru and Nanami share an intimate moment, Amaterasu reveals that returning to their world requires purifying eight divine guardians. On their quest, they encounter a vengeful spirit revealed to be Nanami's former best friend, Chinatsu. After discovering a diary detailing the horrific abuse Chinatsu suffered in life, Nanami uses her love and remorse to soothe the spirit's pain, allowing her to pass on in peace. Meanwhile, the sinister Tsukuyomi grants Satori one final chance to thwart their progress.
Shadows of the Past
After meeting Seiryuu, the group is separated by a spell, leaving Hikaru to navigate Suzaku's forest. He discovers Ayaka and Nagisa trapped in cruel illusions that force them to relive their deepest traumas and hidden secrets, including Ayaka's abusive childhood and Nagisa's struggle with her identity as an adopted daughter. Through his unwavering support and acceptance, Hikaru helps both girls confront their pasts and break free from the psychological torment.
Bound by Destiny
While attempting to free the final guardian, Suzaku, Hikaru is betrayed by the evil spirit Tsukuyomi, who possesses Amaterasu. Following the battle, Hikaru learns the shocking truth of his heritage: he is the son of Izanami and the brother of the antagonist Susanoo. With the revelation that Miyuki is not his biological sister but a destined servant, Hikaru must now embrace his divine lineage to save his mother and bring peace to the realm of dead souls.
