Mr. Dred's tyrannical leadership and reckless business ambitions alienate his executives, leading Perkins and a bankrupt rival to plot his downfall. As Dred struggles with the guilt of abandoning his past love, Fahm, a power struggle culminates in a catastrophic fire that destroys his mansion. While the household staff find new beginnings, the narrator is left alone in the ruins, finally freed from the shadow of the past.
