Castle Fantasia: Holy Demon War

During the protracted Holy Demon Wars on the continent of Synapse, Commander Hewie leads a daring mission to seize the invincible Boleblade Fortress and its powerful magical cannon. Ciruela, haunted by the death of her comrade Seria, volunteers for a perilous suicide mission as a messenger to distract the invading Ingela Army. After being captured and eventually facing the soldier Gaiyaku in a fatal clash, Ciruela is moved by his dying words, which encourage her to stop carrying the burden of grief and instead live fully for those who have fallen. Though she finds personal peace and intimacy with Commander Hewie, the Luciela Army suffers a devastating defeat as the strategic point of Arubidabur falls to the enemy.

Somia, a member of the feared "massacre" unit, is framed for the murder of her superior and sentenced to death. When Hewie is appointed as her executioner, he chooses mercy over duty, recognizing the corruption of the state's justice. After helping Somia escape, Hewie deserts the Ingela Army to forge a new path, vowing to create an ideal country with his new companions.
