Ciruela, haunted by the death of her comrade Seria, volunteers for a perilous suicide mission as a messenger to distract the invading Ingela Army. After being captured and eventually facing the soldier Gaiyaku in a fatal clash, Ciruela is moved by his dying words, which encourage her to stop carrying the burden of grief and instead live fully for those who have fallen. Though she finds personal peace and intimacy with Commander Hewie, the Luciela Army suffers a devastating defeat as the strategic point of Arubidabur falls to the enemy.
